Box / Full-Frame Installation

Full opening replacement — frame removed, framing exposed, new box unit set.

When to Use This

When the work order specifies full-frame or box install and existing frame cannot be preserved.

Steps

  1. Verify measurements and site prep complete.
  2. Remove existing unit and frame per AVW demo standard.
  3. Inspect exposed framing — repair rot or damage before setting.
  4. Install moisture barrier / flashing per method.
  5. Dry-fit box unit — check level, plumb, square.
  6. Shim with laminated flat trim on bottom — not wood.
  7. Secure box to framing.
  8. Seal and flash exterior (see Exterior Finish).
  9. Complete interior finish.

Box is level, plumb, square. Barrier continuous. No gaps at framing connection.
