When to Trim Fins
Trim fins are required on retrofit when the exterior is not flush stucco or the existing frame is a pop-out frame.
- Not flush stucco — trim fins are required.
- Pop-out frame — trim fins are required.
- Flush stucco, standard frame — trim fins are typically not required. Confirm on site if unsure.

Discretion
Some retrofit conditions call for crew judgment on site. When in doubt, check this section first, then call Tom (Production Manager).
- Whether trim fins are needed based on stucco profile and frame type.
- How much existing frame material to trim or grind while preserving the moisture barrier.
- [YOUR INPUT] — Other on-site judgment calls.
Quality Standard
Unit sits level and plumb. Sealant continuous. Frame concealed cleanly inside and out.
Common Mistakes
- Wood shims on the bottom.
