When the unit has a nail fin and the job spec requires fin nailing into framing/sheathing.

Steps

1. Verify opening size and square before setting unit.
2. Apply flashing / WRB integration per AVW method.
3. Set unit level, plumb, and square in opening.
4. Shim bottom with laminated flat trim — not wood.
5. Nail fin per manufacturer and AVW nailing pattern.
6. Seal fin transitions and integrate with stucco finish.
